Mitchell has wowed audiences with his stunning performances of Broadway, Jazz and Opera hits. Mitchells operatic jazz voice suites these genres perfectly, captivating audiences from all across Canada. Born with Hydrocephalus and later diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, Mitchell continues to inspire his audiences through his performances specializing in Jazz, Opera, Broadway and Big Band. Mitchell has performed at numerous events in and around the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, and Canada as well as abroad in Bermuda.

 

A small sampling of events Mitchell has performed at include –

  • The National Anthems for the Toronto Marlies Hockey Team

  • Government Events

  • Autism Conferences

  • The Grand Opening of the Toronto Railway Heritage Centre (Toronto Railway Museum)

  • The Grand Re-Opening of the Lynde House Museum

  • Autism Galas

 

In 2015 Mitchell appeared alongside his service dog, Simba, in a documentary called “Hold Me Steady- a Documentary about Autism Service Dogs” where he also performed the title song, “We’ll Know Its Alright”. Mitchell has also appeared on Daytime Durham, Coffee Talks Roadshow and has also been featured in many newspapers.

In 2011, Mitchell received the Accessibility Community Volunteer Award, in 2012 he was named a recipient of the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal and in 2016 received the Lieutenant Governors Volunteer Pin for all his work and achievements in both the Autism and Music Community.

 

Outside of Singing, Mitchell competes on a competitive Para- Dressage Horseback Riding Quadrille Team and just recently, placed second in his class, competing against many others from across Canada. Mitchell also volunteers with the 6th Toronto Scout Group. On top of all this, Mitchell also enjoys studying history and Model Railroading.

 

More recently, Mitchell attended the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge and has volunteered with the Whitby Historical Society where he plays the role of Jabez Lynde, interpreting life in an 1812 Durham Region.

 

Mitchell hopes that his singing continues to inspire those on the Autism spectrum and any other disability to always strive to do their best in everything they do.
